2D to 3D Conversion
Since there's not a ton of content out yet in 3D, this player has you covered. It upscales your standard Blu-ray discs to 3D so you can still get immersive, near-3D image quality from your 2D content.

Turn your TV into a web-enabled interactive gateway to interact, watch, play and share with friends. Samsung Smart Hub consists of over 200 apps available through this proprietary platform, as well as streamlined channels including movie channels, TV programming, sports and news. The "All Search" lets you type a phrase into the search window and access a list of material from subscribed channels, the internet, a home network and other wirelessly connected devices, including smart phones.
Wi-Fi Ready
Along with an adapter, this player is Wi-Fi ready so you can take full advantage of online connectivity. It also has an ethernet connection which can be paired with your high-speed internet connection.
Multi-Format Playback
The BD-D5500 supports playback of standard Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs and also supports several file formats including MP3, WMA, and AAC. If you have JPEG files on your camera or a USB flash drive, you can enjoy these in high definition on your TV screen via its 2 USB ports.
Anynet +
The BD-D5500 supports Samsung Anynet + (HDMI CEC). This network system automatically controls Samsung AV devices and eliminates the need to use different remote controls for different devices. With the Anynet + feature, all you need is one remote control for a simple user-friendly experience.
